PROJECT INFORMATION
"Atelier XY" is a personal portfolio website I designed and developed independently post-graduation. It curates four selected architectural design projects from my undergraduate studies, along with extracurricular achievements and side projects.
The project originated from a simple need to present my work, coupled with a deep interest in web design. Lacking a formal programming background, I explored various low-code/no-code UI design tools and templates, including Cargo, Readymag, and Figma, before ultimately choosing Framer. Once the DNS was configured, I launched my first portfolio initiative: Atelier XY.
Initially, the site was built using free templates and components from the Framer community. Navigating a completely unfamiliar software meant a steep learning curve from day one. As content integration progressed, technical hurdles emerged—ranging from CMS management issues and UI rendering glitches to backend architectural conflicts. This made me realize that web development involves complex technical layers beyond surface-level design. Consequently, I leveraged AI to learn foundational coding interactively, implementing solutions directly onto the site. To integrate 3D models into the web environment, I also taught myself model-viewer, Spline, BaaS hosting, and Blender. While the site's underlying framework was heavily modified through this process, my architectural background ensured that the visual execution aligned precisely with my design intent.
During the mid-stage, I dedicated substantial effort to content curation, translation, and asset optimization. Because Framer 3.0 had not yet debuted, the platform lacked native AI assistants or MCP integration, despite the widespread adoption of AI tools. I relied heavily on iterative code debugging with Gemini, which inadvertently provided me with a baseline understanding of programming logic and Framer's underlying mechanics, enabling a more systematic content deployment.
Recently, the launch of Framer 3.0 coincided with the final stages of the project, allowing me to utilize Framer 3.0 and MCP to fine-tune and optimize the UI. As my first web project built from the ground up with zero prior experience, Atelier XY remains an evolving canvas that will grow alongside advancing AI collaborative tools. This page marks the successful completion of Version 1. Moving forward, alongside regular content updates, I intend to push the boundaries of this platform further—staying true to the experimental spirit that started it all. :)
